Cappuccino small, medium or large?

Bild
This is a cafe in Sweden. The mugs show how big size you can choose your cappuccino. If you choose the bigger sizes you are not getting a cappuccino. You get a coffee with milk and some skimmed milk on top. The correct ratio of coffee, milk and skimmed milk get lost in the bigger size cups. In Italy there is no choice of cups, you get a cappuccino.

Italian spring is like Swedish summer

Bild
One big difference between Sweden and Italy is the seasons. I love being down in Italy in Spring and Autumn because then  it feels like a colder Swedish summer. In April in Sweden I could never walk in my t-shirt like I do in April in Gorizia situated in the region of  Friulia Venezia Giulia in Italy. Not too war or too cold. Perfect weather for long hikes in the cities. Becuase in the summer the Italian cities are usually to warm.

Italian pizza

Bild
Pizza in Sweden? Very Italian? No, barely. As shown in the picture below that pizza place has no knowledge of Italian. The correct spelling would have been Porto bello. So what are the main differences between pizza in Italy and Sweden? Let us start with the ingredients. In Italy Mozarella is the king when it comes to cheese on pizza. While in Sweden Mozarella you only get it on some kind of special pizza. For Sweden the commonly used cheese is called, the cheapest cheese you can find. This is very common for all ingredients for pizza in Sweden. Cheap. In Italy most of the pizzas are made by Italians while in Sweden most of the pizzas are made by people from the Middle East. In Italy a good Pizza is affordable while in Sweden a good Italian pizza is quite expensive.

Sitting

Bild
In Sweden in public places if people sit down they sit on chair, bench or on a lawn. In Italy people sit down everywhere. People can sit right on the town square and this is something you don't see in Sweden. And if people do that in Sweden the police would come by and ask if everything is all right.

Blonde or not?

Bild
In all my life I have had chestnut brown hair. I have never been considered blonde. But that was in Sweden. When I travelled down to Italy people said that I was blonde and each time I am in Italy people say that I am blonde. Quite a funny difference. So look below at the picture and say. Blonde or chestnut brown?

Time to buy a cold bottle of white wine

Bild
In Italy if I want to buy a cold bottle of white wine of sparkling wine to take with me to drink at another place there is no problem. I can go to a store and buy it. As the sign says below, vino freddo (cold wine). But if I want to buy a bottle cold wine in Sweden, that is impossible. Because in Sweden there is an alcohol monopoly and the alcohol monopoly stores are not allowed to sell chilled products, not even beers. Why? Because it would be considered encouraging people to drink alcohol. So in Sweden you better prepare in advance if you want to drink a chilled beer or white wine at another place than a bar or restaurant.

Cappuccino

Bild
If I order a cappuccino in Sweden or Italy I will not get the same cappuccino. In Italy if I order a cappuccino I will get the cappuccino in a cup which is approximately the same size anywhere in Italy with the correct proportion of coffee, steamed milk and frothed milk. What will happen if I order a cappuccino in Sweden? First I have to choose the size of the cappuccino, medium or large. There is not usually any small cappuccinos in Sweden. Then the bartender will probably ask if I want a single or a double, this will never happen in Italy. When you get the cappuccino, the cup is so much bigger than anything you would get in Italy. Finally the proportions of coffee, milk and frothed milk is completely unbalanced, since in Sweden they don't understand that cappuccino is about proportions. Not just coffee with steamed milk and some frothed milk on top. A cappuccino at Pasticceria Pistone in Bologna.
